How to Locate NYSC Orientation Camps 36 States – In our previous post, we showed you the addresses of all the NYSC orientation camps in Nigeria, today, we will show you tips on how to locate the NYSC camp across all states in Nigeria. Read carefully between the line as we give you the road guide.
Be informed that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) operates its orientation camps in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory in Nigeria.
Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) often face challenges locating these camps, especially if they are new to the states they are posted to serve. In this article, we will guide you on how to find NYSC Orientation camps nationwide.
How to Locate NYSC Orientation Camp in Nigeria
Here are directions to find any NYSC orientation camp:
1. Abia State NYSC Camp
On your way to Umuahia, stop at ‘Bus stop gate’, Umuahia. You can take a bus straight to the camp from the bus stop, or ask a bus heading to ‘Oha-ofia, Igbere’ to drop you at the NYSC orientation camp gate.
2. Anambra State NYSC Camp
If coming from Onitsha, go to Upper-Iweka and board a bus to Awka. Once on the bus, remind the driver or conductor that you’ll be getting off at the NYSC orientation camp in Umunya. Upon reaching Umunya, find a motorbike to take you to the camp.
But if you are coming from Awka, head to Unizik Junction and board a bus to Onitsha. Remind the driver or conductor that you’ll be getting off at the NYSC orientation camp in Umunya. Similar to the previous route, find a motorbike to take you to the camp.
3. Kano State Orientation Camp
On your way to Kano state, ask the driver to drop you at Unguwa Uku. At this point, you’ll find buses waiting to take people to Karaye camp for a fare ranging from 500 to 700 Naira. If the driver misses Unguwa Uku, stop at the final bus stop, Sabon-gari Park on New Road, and proceed from there.
4. Jigawa State Orientation Camp
From Kano, board a bus going to Dutse and inform the driver that you’ll be stopping at the NYSC orientation camp in Fanisau. The journey should take about 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the camp is situated opposite an Army barracks.
5. Bauchi State Orientation Camp
Upon reaching the last bus stop in Bauchi, take a taxi to Muda Lawal Park. From there, board a bus heading to Wailo, where the NYSC orientation camp is located.
6. Rivers State Orientation Camp
Upon arriving in Port Harcourt, stop at Eleme junction and ask for directions to where buses to Nonwa or Gokana are boarding. Board a bus to the orientation camp and ensure you inform the driver about your destination. The camp is along the road, and the journey takes about 20-30 minutes.
7. Oyo State Orientation Camp
Upon reaching Ibadan, stop at Iwo Road. Take a taxi to Ojoo and inform them to drop you at Iseyin Park. From there, board a bus heading to the orientation camp, which may cost around 800 to 1,000 Naira, and the journey is more than 2 hours.
8. Delta State Orientation Camp
If you’re coming to Delta from Lagos, South West, or Benin, board a bus to Asaba or Onitsha. Ask the driver to drop you at Issele-Uku junction. Cross the express and take a motorbike straight to the orientation camp, which will cost around 70-100 Naira.
But if you’re coming from Enugu or the South East, board a bus to Onitsha and stop at Upper Iweka. From there, board a bus to Koko junction. You’ll find Issele-Uku buses at Koko junction. Board one and drop at Issele-Uku junction. Cross the express and take a motorbike to the camp. The journey from Asaba takes about 25-35 minutes.
9. Adamawa State Orientation Camp
From Yola, take a taxi to Vinikilang or get a drop straight to the camp from any park. The price for a drop ranges from 300 to 400 Naira.
10. Katsina State Orientation Camp
From Kano, board a bus to Katsina. Once you arrive in Katsina, take a motorbike to the camp, located at Mani road.
11. Nasarawa State Orientation Camp
From Abuja, board a bus and stop at Mararaba. Take a bus to Keffi, and inform the driver that you want to get off at the NYSC orientation camp.
12. Cross River State Orientation Camp
If you’re coming from Lagos and South West states, stop at Calabar and board a direct bus to Obubra. Let them know you want to get off at Obubra junction, and then take a motorbike to the camp. If you’re coming from Abuja, board a Calabar bus and tell the driver you’ll be getting off at Obubra junction, and proceed as described.
But if you’re coming from Onitsha, stop at Upper Iweka and board an IKOM motor. Inform the driver that you’ll be getting off at Obubra junction, and then take a motorbike to the camp.
13. Sokoto State Orientation Camp
From Sokoto city park, hire a bike and instruct the rider to take you to Wamakko. The camp is located on the left side of the road.
14. Kaduna State Orientation Camp
From Kaduna city, board a bus going to Chikun local government. Let the driver know you’re heading to the NYSC orientation camp. The camp is located along the Kaduna/Abuja expressway and the fare from the city is around 150 to 200 Naira.
15. Kogi State Orientation Camp
From anywhere in Kogi state, board a bus to Kabba. Stop at the last bus stop and take a motorbike to the NYSC orientation camp.
16. Osun State Orientation Camp
If you’re in Osogbo, board a bus to Ede. Once you’re dropped off, find a motorbike that can take you straight to the NYSC orientation camp for approximately 100 to 150 Naira.
But if you’re coming from Lagos, Ibadan, Kogi, Abeokuta, or Abuja, look for a bus headed to Osun state. As soon as you reach Ife or Ilesha, inform the driver you’ll be getting off at Gbogan. From Gbogan, take a direct bus to the camp.
17. Abuja (FCT) Orientation Camp
Stop at Jabi park and take a taxi or Keke to Wuse market. Board a bus going to Kubwa village. The last bus stop is Kubwa market, and from there, the NYSC orientation camp is within walking distance. Alternatively, you can take a bike to the camp.
18. Lagos State Orientation Camp
If you’re starting from Ikeja, take a bus to Iyana Ipaja. When you get to Iyana Ipaja, board a bus to Agege or Iyapaja and tell the driver to drop you at the NYSC orientation camp. If you’re starting from Ojota, follow the same route but ensure you stop at the last bus stop under the bridge.
If you’re in Oyingbo, take a bus to Costain, and from Costain, board a bus to Ojuelegba, then Oshodi, and finally Iyana Ipaja, stopping at the last bus stop under the bridge. From there, ask locals for directions to the NYSC camp.
19. Ogun State Orientation Camp
If you’re coming from Lagos, take a direct bus to Sagamu. When the bus stops, hire a motorbike to take you directly to the orientation camp. If you’re in Abeokuta, follow the same route via Sagamu.
20. Imo State Orientation Camp
From Owerri, board a bus from Ama JK to Nkwerre. Inform the driver that you’re heading to the NYSC camp in Eziama Obaire Nkwerre. Stop at Nkume junction and take a motorbike to the camp.
21. Enugu State Orientation Camp
If you’re coming from any part of Nigeria, proceed to Enugu City. Locate Holy Ghost Park and ask for vehicles heading to Awgu. Board one of these vehicles to reach the camp. If you’re coming from the South, for example, the Port Harcourt-Calabar axis, you don’t have to go to Enugu City. Simply board a bus heading to Enugu and inform the driver that you’ll be stopping at Awgu NYSC Camp. Remind the driver once you have passed Okigwe.
– If you’re traveling by air, board a plane to the Enugu Airport. From the terminal, hire a cab to take you directly to the camp. Alternatively, you can get to Holy Ghost Park and board a vehicle straight to the NYSC Camp.
– Another option by air is to land at the Owerri Airport. From Owerri, proceed by road to Okigwe. From Okigwe, you can easily get a cab to the Awgu NYSC camp.
22. Borno State Orientation Camp
If you’re coming from Kano, inform the drivers that you’re heading to Gumel in Jigawa state. They’ll direct you to a place where you can find a taxi. The taxi will take you to a location where you can get a direct bus to the College of Education, Gumel, which serves as the temporary orientation camp.
23. Yobe State Orientation Camp
From Kano, board a direct bus to Yobe. The camp is located in Potiskum. You can also travel to Potiskum directly from Lagos or Onitsha.
24. Gombe State Orientation Camp
From Gombe park, board a direct bus to the camp. The orientation camp is located at Science Technical College, Amanda, km 21, Gombe-Bauchi Highway, near International Airport Gombe.
25. Akwa Ibom State Orientation Camp
If you’re at AKTC park in Uyo, you might find a direct bus to the camp. If not, take a Keke to a place called Plaza, walk to Oron road, and ask where Nsit Atai buses are boarding.
26. Kwara State Orientation Camp
If you’re in Ilorin, hire a bike to Maraba. This is where you’ll find a bus heading to Yikpata camp, which will drop you at the camp entrance.
27. Bayelsa State Orientation Camp
Board a bus going to Yenagoa and tell the driver to stop at Mbiama (just before entering Bayelsa). At Mbiama, you’ll find cabs going to Kaiama. Join one of these cabs and tell them you’ll stop at Kaiama park. From Kaiama park, take a direct bike to the camp.
28. Edo State Orientation Camp
From Benin, take a bus to Okada. From Okada, you’ll find cabs or motorbikes that will take you directly to the orientation camp.
29. Taraba State Orientation Camp
The NYSC orientation camp in Taraba is located at Sibre Airport Road, Jalingo. As you make your way to Jalingo, you’ll be dropped at the camp’s gate, as it’s located by the expressway.
30. Zamfara State Orientation Camp
From Kaduna, stop at Kawo park, get a bike or taxi to NDA junction where Zamfara park is located. From there, take a bus to Zamfara. The camp is situated along the road in Tsafe LGA.
31. Benue State Orientation Camp
From Makurdi’s last bus stop, cross to the other side, right in front of Winners Chapel church. You’ll find cars going to Gboko. From Gboko, you’ll drop at the NYSC camp just after the police college by the roadside.
32. Plateau State Orientation Camp
From Jos, take a direct bus to Mangu, where the orientation camp is located. The fare is around 500 Naira, and the journey takes 45 minutes to 1 hour.
33. Ebonyi State Orientation Camp
If you’re in Abakaliki, take a bus to Afikpo Macgregor camp. Stop at the junction and take a motorbike straight to the camp.
34. Kebbi State Orientation Camp
From Mando park in Kaduna, get a vehicle heading to Yauri/Kontagora. Drop off at Yauri. From Yauri, get a vehicle heading to Koko. After reaching Koko, take a direct cab to the orientation camp located at Dakingari.
– If you’re starting from Ibadan, get a vehicle going to Kontagora, Niger state. Once in Kontagora, get a vehicle to Koko. After arriving at Koko junction, take a direct cab to the orientation camp located at Dakingari.
35. Niger State Orientation Camp
From Minna, take a motorbike to Mobil filling station and board a bus straight to Paiko, where the orientation camp is located.
36. Ekiti State Orientation Camp
If you’re in Ado-Ekiti, board a bus to the NYSC orientation camp located at Ise-Emure Ekiti. The bus fare is around 300 Naira.
37. Ondo State Orientation Camp
Starting from Akure, take a taxi to Benin garage. You’ll find a vehicle going to Ikare. From the last bus stop, take a motorbike straight to the orientation camp.
